Education FAQs

  • What is AP?

AP stands for Alternative Provision. This is a term used to describe education which is provided outside of traditional school. At Verbatim our Alternative Provision consists of a bespoke package for children including nurture sessions and therapy alongside education. We provide a package of support for children who have suffered from trauma and are unable to access mainstream education.

  • Do sessions run throughout the year?

At Verbatim the Alternative Provision follows the Norfolk School term calendar dates. This can be seen on our website.

  • I am a parent, can I make a referral for my child?

Our referral form can be found on our website. This needs to be completed by your child’s school. We recommend that you work alongside your child’s school to complete this.

  • What does the Alternative Provision include?

We design a package of support to best meet the needs of the individual child. This means that each child’s experience will be slightly different. However all will initially have a focus on therapy and nurture before introducing education.

  • How long do sessions last?

Each session is generally 50 minutes long followed by a 10 minute break. Children tend to join us for either 3 or 6 hours a day depending on their needs.

  • How will my child get to you?

Transport is organised by parents or school depending on the individual situation.
