It will help me to take a moment to step back and understand that a child is not always choosing to be difficult, but that it is much deeper than that and their perception of the world may be incredibly different to mine. It was also incredibly useful to think of strategies to use that can help children calm and explain their feeling whether this is verbally or physically.
