Head of Alternative Provision

Sophie qualified as a primary school teacher 25 years ago and has experience teaching across both Primary and Early Years settings. She has a passion for taking learning outside and is a Level 3 qualified Forest School Leader. She is particularly interested in the way that this style of learning enables all children to build self-confidence, resilience and problem solving. She also uses it as a powerful tool to allow young voices to be heard.
Sophie has joined our team as a Forest School Teacher where she will lead sessions taking children into our dedicated Forest School woodland site and as a teacher within the Alternative Provision team.
Sophie is also our Education coordinator for Alternative Provision which aims to help every child overcome their difficulties, regain or develop a sense of self-worth, self-control and develop the skills and competence to maintain relationships and access education in an appropriate setting.
