Community Consultant Paediatrician

Dr Sue Zeitlin (MB.BS, FRCPCH) has been a consultant paediatrician in Norfolk since 1998, working as an NHS consultant but also privately. She now specialises in behavioural paediatrics, including the assessment of children and young people who may be on the autistic spectrum and conditions such as ADHD.

Her training has been varied: qualified as a doctor in London, then leaving the UK to train as a paediatrician in Canada. She spent much of her early career there specialising in intensive care before coming back to England where she ended up working in community paediatrics,  with more than a few detours on route.
Having had the privilege of working with some great teams and inspiring colleagues she believes there is a great deal we still have to learn about how to effectively work with young people. She recognises the importance of medical diagnoses, but also recognises that every young person and their family comes with a personal story that will never be explained or described with a simplistic label.
